Product Overview
The South Bend SB1127 is a heavy-duty oscillating edge sander built for shaping, smoothing, and finishing edges, contours, bevels, and flat surfaces. Its 9" x 138-1/2" belt runs at variable speeds from 1100 to 4250 FPM, giving you better control over material removal and finish quality.
A powerful 3 HP motor and variable frequency drive provide smooth, high-torque performance on single-phase power, while belt oscillation helps improve surface results and extend abrasive life. Digital readouts for belt speed and platen tilt, a 0–45° tilting platen, and quick belt changes make it easy to dial in settings for a wide range of sanding tasks.
With a large precision-ground cast-iron table, graphite-coated platen, and auxiliary contour sanding table with 7" of vertical travel, this machine is well suited for furniture shops, cabinetmakers, door manufacturers, and serious woodworking operations that need consistent, professional-level sanding performance.
