Product Overview
The South Bend SB1012F is a 14" x 40" toolroom metal lathe built for precision turning, threading, and fabrication work. Its electronic variable-speed spindle gives you quick, accurate speed control from 20 to 2500 RPM, while the 5 HP motor and 2.0625" spindle bore support a wide range of machining tasks.
A 2-axis FAGOR DRO helps you track apron and cross slide position for more confident, repeatable results. The induction-hardened and ground Meehanite cast bed, precision spindle bearings, coolant system, and included chucks and faceplate make this a capable machine for producing dies, fine tools, jigs, fixtures, and general shop parts.
With 14" swing over bed, 40" between centers, and broad inch and metric threading ranges, this lathe is well suited for toolrooms, machine shops, and experienced metalworkers who need versatility and accuracy in a full-size manual lathe.
