Product Overview
The Shop Fox W1858 is an 8-inch jointer built for accurately flattening faces, straightening edges, beveling, and squaring stock. Its 4-row helical cutterhead with 36 indexable carbide inserts cuts at an angle for smoother results, quieter operation, and reduced tear-out compared to traditional straight-knife designs.
A long 72-inch precision-ground cast-iron table provides solid support for working with longer boards, while dovetail ways and handwheel table adjustments help deliver precise control. The fence includes positive stops at 45°, 90°, and 135° for quick setup, and the machine also features a rabbeting table, 4-inch dust port, and a built-in mobile base for easier positioning in the shop.
With a 3 HP, 230V single-phase motor and 5,500 RPM cutterhead speed, this jointer is well suited for serious hobbyists, furniture makers, and small professional woodshops that need clean, consistent results on rough lumber and finish stock.
