Customer Reviews
Installed a 50 amp breaker in outside breaker panel. Installed box to plug cord from the generator. Started the generator and it supplied power to all necessary appliances in the house. Ran the generator on gasoline. Very pleased with the generator. If there is any more power outages I will be all set.
We live in the Santa Rosa Valley which is about 40 miles from the epicenter of the world's 19 largest economy - Los Angeles County. Our electrical power is provided by SCE just about whenever they feel like it or so it seems. I finally decided to purchase a back up generator to survive the frequent outages we have experienced due to winds and high fire potential..In the two weeks since our Firman 50 amp generator was installed our power was out for a part of at least 8 days. We were able to weather that third world environment with full house power inclucing TV's, fridges, computers, heating, etc. by starting up our Hilman. It never failed to start and ran like a charm on one 20 lb propane tank for 8 hours or so. We had 2 tanks and rotated them during extended outages. And there were at least three of them. Very pleased with the performance of the Hilman generator and it was a very cost effective investment in saved food alone - my wife's sanity an incalculable bonus.
I had a house fire and had to use it to start cleaning the debris and run the window units vaccum and frig. Started right up.
